Dear Property Owners on James Rd. and Plymouth Place,
This letter is a follow up to our October letter regarding the AEP’s request for additional easements on James Rd. We have gathered the information below and are providing it to you so that you will be fully informed about this project.
As you all have been notified by AEP/Columbus Southern Power Company, in late February, weather permitting, the Livingston - Bexley Pole Line Rebuild project will commence on the west side of James Rd. We would like to advise you that the trees that have been marked with red paint will be removed at any time as this work must be completed before the Pole Line Rebuild begins.
The purpose of this project is to upgrade infrastructure, improve service distribution, and reduce outages. Once the project is underway, it should move smoothly and consistently. The installation work will be done from the street. The new steel poles will be taller than the existing wood poles and will carry multiple services; however, the general transmission lines will remain at the current height. Once the new poles are installed, the lines will be transferred to them and the old poles removed. The pole line will remain the same. Some damage to curbs and the city easement will be caused by the heavy equipment. This will be repaired by AEP/Columbus Southern Power Company. Little or no damage should occur to private property. If such damage should occur, owners do have recourse with AEP/Columbus Southern Power Company.
Some owners may want to be present when the work is being done on their properties. AEP tells us that the project will begin at the substation on Livingston Ave. and proceed north from there. Owners will be able to see a time pattern for the installation and judge when the project is likely to be on their properties.
Sincerely,
Herb Talabere,
President, Eastmoor Civic Association and Blockwatch
